London’s early expeditions to the most isolated Waorani hunter-gatherer groups. Chuso a Kichwa leader, heads the LLB aid projects to support and preserve the Waorani hunter-gatherers way of life. His wife Kandy Tuesta Sandoval and his son Davis Estafen Cuenca help on many expeditions.
Chuso is legendary throughout Waorani territory and is often the go-to person for the Ecuadorian government when they need to negotiate with Waorani hunter-gatherers. LLB is the only organization familiar with the native villages scattered in the vast Napo Amazonian Rain Forest region.
In 2020, Chuso led teams of 25-30 doctors and medical professionals in Amazon Rain Forest expeditions to provide COVID-19 outreach for all 11,500 community members in 46 communities of Waorani & Kichwa natives.
